Wild Winter Days
First on my thoughts this week, especially as the weather gets colder and more challenging for vulnerable individuals, is my ongoing project to support those impacted by homelessness. While I continue to actively work on gathering both monetary and physical donations for this important initiative, I am also exploring various creative ways to contribute a portion of my earnings towards this significant endeavour.
Although this task is challenging—as I am still on the brink of rekindling my art practice following my battle with breast cancer and the difficulties caused by family tragedy and the pandemic—it is a journey that I am committed to. Progress is indeed slow, but I remain hopeful that, in the next year, I will be able to make a much larger impact on the lives of those in need within our community.
I am planning another visit to a London Homeless Charity on January 21st and am still actively collecting any donations people may be interested in offering. Please take a moment to visit my Help the Homeless page on my website, where you can learn more about this initiative, make a donation, and share information with anyone who may want to help.
Additionally, I would absolutely love it if you might consider joining me on that day; please do get in touch with me if you think you might be able to spare a few hours to lend your support. It would truly be wonderful to have friends accompanying me as we work together to assist those in need on that day!
Running alongside my ongoing passion for helping people in meaningful ways, I am excited to announce that I’ll be adding a thoughtfully curated selection of Arts for Health and Wellness workshops scheduled for January 2025 and onwards, which will be held in the beautiful city of St Albans, Hertfordshire.
These engaging workshops are specially designed to help you start the New Year off on a positive note. They will enhance your chances of successfully manifesting your resolutions while also allowing you to create stunning artwork that can beautify your home and foster social connections.
My goal is to bring a sense of light and joy into the darker winter months, particularly when the dreary weather and winter doldrums tend to affect our spirits. To give you a sneak peek of my exciting upcoming workshops, here are the creative titles that are sure to spark your curiosity: “Mandala New Year's Resolutions,” “Candlelit Dioramas,” and “World in an Oyster Shell!”
If this delightful lineup piques your interest, please watch my website for updates, which I will post by the end of this month. I’m keeping the attendance small to ensure an intimate learning environment, so space will be limited, and booking early is preferable to avoid disappointment.
If you would like to be added to my subscriber list for upcoming workshops like these, please subscribe here: Subscribe.
As with all my other services and products, a percentage of my sales will be dedicated directly to my ongoing donations to Help the Homeless, supporting a cause close to my heart.
Last Friday, I officially launched my “Friday Lates Drawing Class,” which was initially scheduled to take place on the 29th of November. Unfortunately, it had to be postponed to the 6th of December. This date change occurred because I caught a cold during the last week of November and completely lost my voice when I should have been teaching.
Although this situation was a little frustrating, I am delighted to share that our very first class was a resounding success! There were a few returning students, and it was a joy to witness their incredible and beautiful creative work again. Additionally, some new and fascinating students joined us, who were a true delight to work with. Everyone enthusiastically leapt right into my creative games, and we even managed to attract a very curious gallery guard who commented that our class was the most unusual drawing class ever in the famous Cast Courts! Such a generous compliment! I even invited him to join us briefly, which turned out to be quite a bit of fun for everyone involved!
I am looking forward to our next class this Friday, the 13th of December, and another session in January on the 24th. This class will be established as a regular monthly event, and it is my sincere hope that I will be able to gradually build a nurturing artist community devoted to enhancing the creative journey rather than focusing on the final product while also making the arts accessible to everyone at all levels of skill and experience.
I’ve decided to shift my blog posting schedule to every two weeks instead of every week, at least for this upcoming holiday season. This change will allow me to take a little break and recharge creatively.
Then, as we move into the new year, I’ll take the time to reevaluate my blog schedule.
Thank you so much for reading my blog post and for your ongoing support of my work.
Please feel free to contact me or leave a comment on this post if you have any questions or want to contribute to the conversation.
Peace to all,
Franceska
