Spiritual Discoveries

Pictures of printmaking, printing press and box of collected items for the homeless.

Somehow, while allowing myself more time to work in the studio outside of my constant to-do list, I’ve finally found time to use my new Pooki Printing press, which has been a game changer as I’m no longer having to use a wooden spoon to produce prints. I’ve been fantasising about buying a Pooki Press for several years but couldn’t afford it until recently. Though it’s not as big as I’d like it to be, it fits very well in my tiny studio!

My Hara Tree Self with little soul windows

I christened my new press with my new linocut, “My Hara Tree Self,” which is a play on words from the meaning of the Reiki Hara's true self. My Reiki practice after my level 1 attunement in September has been an up-and-down journey that’s created incredible archetypal dreams and strange body pains that seem to be part of the detoxing process I’m going through as I cleanse, balance, and heal my chakras every day.

This evolving Reiki practice experience is changing my body, my studio practice, and how I relate to others. It has given me a stronger intuition about what I perceive in the world around me. I’ve created a game with myself to try to “see” the colours of cars before they appear or to “see” through cards at the image on the other side with various levels of accuracy each time. It’s fascinating.

As well as my ongoing reiki training with the Divine Reiki Studio in St Albans, I’ve been exploring other spiritual workshops at Clearly Destiny in London, as I’ve previously had very accurate readings there in the past. I’ve always been really interested in these spiritual topics most of my life, and even more so after my cancer experience and the death of my brother and my dad in 2021 and 2022. Still, it’s like I’m just now allowing myself to give my belief to this practice, and it’s such a relief to share this. Especially as I know a few of my friends reading this may decide that I’m a nutcase as they may not be as believing as I am, but I feel like I want to share what my life is becoming now! Getting to know “My Hara Tree Self”! Yes, pun very much intended!

Alongside this fascinating eye-opening experience, I’m still slowly collecting supplies to deliver to those impacted by homelessness. However, I hope to sell some of my artwork to help pay for these supplies as I’ve not been successful at finding donations physically or monetarily, though I’m still trying. I think people are too busy or unable to spare anything these days, so perhaps that’s why I’m not finding much in the way of donations. I have set up a page to collect funds, which you can find here: “Help the Homeless Donations”.

On November 21st, I intend to take these supplies to those individuals struggling with homelessness with my friend Katrina. Our plan has been to pack bags of supplies into wheelie suitcases to take to London more easily so we can walk the streets of London and try to help everyone we encounter.

If you have any suggestions on how I can help those impacted by homelessness or if you know someone with ideas, please get in touch.

I’m also offering arts and wellbeing sessions at the Victoria & Albert Museum for anyone who wants to draw with a therapeutic theme. I do not work for the museum; I work for myself, so this is again my freelance teaching practice I’m referring to.

Part of my teaching fee will go towards buying supplies for people experiencing homelessness, which I think might help, too. If you’re interested in these sessions, please contact me and let me know what you’re looking for in a session.

Thank you for reading my post and for supporting me!

Peace to all,
Franceska
