Of Seeking Inner Peace

January has felt like a strong storm, bringing me many frustrating and inspiring challenges. I recognise this is a time of learning, acceptance, and letting go. Amid the bruised wintery grey skies and the few days of piercing winter sun, it also seems astonishing that I’ve not walked into the woods or stood to draw on the edge of the fields for an entire month. I long for spring and the gentle, warmer sun; my flat is filled with flowers to combat this need.

Midwinter Break

Though I said I would write a blog post every two weeks during the holiday season, I think it’s realistic to say that I’m taking a break from technology until after the 7th of January and also because I’m traveling. I hope those who read my blog post are taking time to rest and spend time with loved ones. Miniature Construction Site and Cake.

After the build-up and anticipation of last week’s delivery of goods to people experiencing homelessness and also the third anniversary of my brother’s departure from the physical plane, I rather accepted it when, on Friday, my body developed a sore throat. I did test for covid, but fortunately it has been a negative result and reaffirmed that this is just the common cold that I’ve had all weekend. Despite being indoors all weekend and slightly unwell, I feel exhilarated by last week, and being alive always brings me joy.

I want to share that I’m offering a regular drawing class once a month on Friday evenings at the Victoria and Albert Museum, which I’m calling “Friday Lates Drawing Class”. 

This is not a typical drawing class and isn’t serious at all. It involves many drawing games that challenge your perspective and make drawing fun and social.
